These artists painted during les Années Folles (the Crazy Years) of the famous Parisian area,
which was the avant-garde cultural center because of the presence of the same Modigliani
and Chagall, political exiles like Lenin and Trotsky and the Americans Hemingway and Miller,
as well as the sophisticated bohemian atmosphere that characterized the place
